- Pencils: 1-2B pencil, 1-4B pencil, 1-6B pencil, 1 Stomps which is
tightly rolled up paper to create shading.
- Eraser: 1 Staedler eraser.
- Markers: 1 NON-permanent marker like a PILOT FINE-LINER. 1 PERMANENT
marker, like a SHARPIE fine and medium point.
- Sketch-pad: 110-lb ringbinder type sketch-pad "Robert Bateman".
71/2" x 11" Good Quality Paper.
- Watercolour paper: 140 lb "Arches" or Bockingford are excellent.
They can be cut up into 4 pieces if they are full size sheets. Pads
are also good.
- Brushes : 1 Large round brush (#30), 1 Medium round brush (#8 or 10),
1 Fine round brush (#20). 1 Flat Brush (4"wide), 1 Flat brush (2"
wide), 1Medium Flat Brush (3/4" wide). There are no fast or hard
rules about brushes EXCEPT one--They MUST be of good quality. Depending
on the size of your work, you will work with the corresponding size.
(Any good art store should be of help ie: Loomis & Toles).
- Palette; 1 LARGE palette with deep wells.
- Paints; Cadmium Yellow , New Gamboge Yellow , Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna,
Sepia, optional: Raw or Burnt Umber, Hookers Green (light), Veridian
Green, Cobalt Blue, French Ultra Marine Blue, Prussian Blue or Antwerp
Blue, Permanent Red, Permanent Rose, Crimson, Alizarin Red, and, Paynes
Grey.
- 1 Large Water Container ie: 2 litre ice cream bucket.
- 1 Terry Cloth Towel, medium size to lay your brushes on.
- Papertowel and Toilet paper
- Hair dryer.
- Arborite Board about 20" x 16" or equivalant to tape your
paper onto. Corrugated plastic works well.
- Masking Tape, 3/4" or 1 " wide.
- Ruler.
- Take along all your materials.
